Bianca from the Wardrobe Green is celebrating Op Shop Week this month and shares her favourite Op Shop Style Queens so you can follow them online and learn from the professionals!
This September edition of Ballarat OP Shop Diaries is a special one, because it just so happens that OP SHOP WEEK is coming up at the end of the month (Sunday 30th – Saturday 6th)! A week where we can acknowledge and celebrate Op Shops, Op Shopping and all the joy that it brings. For this special edition, I wanted to share with you my favourite Stylish Op Shop Queens. These ladies shop with a conscience, embrace individual style and know how to rock pre-loved!
Emily – Blue Umbrella Lane
Hannah – Never Ever Pay Retail
Ellen – The Only way is Op
Alex – Op Shop To Runway
Faye – Fashion Hound
Of course Op Shopping is much more than thrifted style, and hunting for bargains. Op Shopping is about community, about the give and take of life, supporting those in need, and promoting sustainability. OP Shops play an important role in our communities, offering what could be seen as a social hub for those wishing to volunteer their time. Op Shops have many a purpose, and are certainly favoured by fashion lovers like myself, whom love to shop for clothes!
In an attempt to break the devastating cycle of Fast Fashion, Op Shopping is clearly one of the answers. Choosing to shop preloved has many benefits for yourself, the community and the environment. Just get brave, step outside your comfort zone and decide to give Fast Fashion the flick, once and for all!
Don’t forget to snap a pic of your preloved finds, and use the hashtag #ballaratopshopping!
