Helen Frys is a spiritual and holistic healer, helping people to steer themselves towards success and bridge the gap between where they are and where they would like to be. What an intriguing gig to have, so we sat down to chat with Helen and get to know her a little better and find out just what it is that she does.
Tell us about yourself
I was brought up in Ballarat, live in Creswick and love holidaying in the tropics. I am the mother of 2 gorgeous adult girls and I have a wonderful life partner. I love having fun and drinking champers but at the same time I like to look after myself and my health. I am a firm believer in being responsible for your own well-being. And I am totally hooked on personal development, self-help and positive thinking. Back in 2003 I studied and became a certified Holistic and Spiritual Healer….mainly to heal my own troubled soul.
What are your character strengths and passions?
I am a very empathic and compassionate person. I hate seeing people suffering or in pain. I don’t take life too seriously. I’m at the stage where I realise everything in life is an experience and it’s up to us to decide whether that experience is good or bad. So I do have a good positive attitude. But at times things happen that can knock us around. So I am a work in progress, just like everyone else. But the beauty of it now…is I have the strength to get myself back to a positive state quickly. So I am very passionate about helping others to do the same. My other passion is cooking home style meals for my family and friends…and spoiling them with deliciousness!
Tell us about your business & the services it offers
I created Be Magnificently Inspired because I really want to remind women of their magnificence and to get inspired about their lives. I see and hear so many women put themselves down and give themselves a hard time…but rarely talk about their good points. In fact, a lot don’t even know what their good points are! And this is wrong!! This needs to change!!! So for this reason I created the Sacred Self Love Workshop to give women the tools, the permission and the means to change. All in a beautiful safe space (think candles, pillows, rugs, essential oils) where there is no competition jealousy or comparisons…just pure love and kindness. There is always one area in life we struggle with…and we’re not meant to or shouldn’t struggle alone. At Be Magnificently Inspired you are offered the chance to be part of a loving and supportive group. I also offer a 5 day FREE ‘Affirm Your Magnificent Worth’ online challenge…on how to use affirming words to create a magnificent and abundant life! Using the power of words to change your situation and accept yourself without judgement.
What inspired you to launch your business?
In my early years I suffered from low self-esteem and low self-confidence. These feelings don’t add up to a happy life. Sadness was my constant friend. Over the years I’ve worked hard on myself and now I am at the point where I can help women who have these same feelings. I believe we all want to thrive, be loved and make a difference. We want to live with passion and purpose. That’s why we are here…that’s why we exist. So that’s what inspires me to do the work I do. I want to leave this planet knowing I made a difference.
What do you gain from providing your service?
I get such a kick out of seeing people make a positive change in their life. I love seeing them get an ‘aha’ moment or when they realise it’s ok to put themselves first. I love bringing women together in a space where they can share their struggles and challenges…and get them to realise we all have the same fears and doubts. And…I get to see the inner beauty in these women and form amazing friendships and bonds. I always learn from them just as much as they learn from what I share.
Where do you see yourself & your business in 2 years from now?
I really want to grow my workshops and create a gorgeous sisterhood. Running a workshop in each state, as well as creating weekend getaways and week-long retreats…to play, laugh and learn in gorgeous settings. To love life, grow this self-love movement, make a difference and of course drink champagne! I will also be running online courses so my work is more accessible.
Do you keep in touch with your clients/workshop attendees?
Yes. Once you have attended a workshop you are added to private group and you are welcomed into what I like to call…the Magnificent Soul Sister Tribe. Connection is so important. We all live such full on and busy lives…so I love nothing more than to have get togethers that are relaxed and easy. I’ve had meditation nights…am planning a film night and also a night out. Just to catch up and stay connected with like-minded people.
How do you measure your personal & professional success
On how I feel. But sometimes I have to look for the feeling….because we can achieve so much, but we are so busy onto the next thing we didn’t get a chance to celebrate. So often I have to pull myself up and say “Hey, look at what you’ve done”. When I push past my fears, like getting my work out there when sometimes I wonder if I’m good enough…that is a measure of success for me. Sometimes my fear can be so great…that when I do it…I feel like I just did a bungy jump. It’s exhilarating.
