Earlier this week we published the latest update from Bianca and her blog “Ballarat Op Shop Diaries”. This month was all about shopping for the kids!
I always get a kick out of reading her blog posts, they just reaffirm for me, my new found love of op shopping and being mindful about where I spend my money. As a new mum who gave up her cruisy corporate job with big bucks to pursue a career in entrepreneurship and online business…saving money is a pretty big deal to me these days!
But that’s not my point here. With the release of Bianca’s latest blog, I wanted to introduce you to 3 women behind the scenes here at BFG, who contribute their words to our blog every month out of the goodness of their hearts!
- Bianca – is a mum of 3 gorgeous girls, who live in country Victoria and come in to Ballarat to run her store selling pre-loved clothing. Her whole business started out online, predominantly with Instagram. So having a real shop to walk into is a whole new world for Bianca, but I love what she stands for and the way she just owns her quirky, unique style. If I wore half the clothes she owned I would look like a twit, I don’t have a personal style so I just throw stuff on for comfort. But she looks immaculate every single time I see her! Who knew preloved could be so damn awesome! So in her blogs each month on BFG, she talks to us about sustainable shopping, saving money, being environmentally friendly and that biz, reviewing local op shops and giving us loads of tips on how to do it RIGHT! You can read her blogs here.
- Bec – is a comedian in mum’s clothing! She is on maternity leave from her corporate job (which unlike me, she actually loves), so getting out and about with 3 kids is pretty intense. But she takes it all in her stride and shares her hilarious, but always informative and interesting adventures around Ballarat with her tag alongs! They get out to events, they do things around town, and they share even simple things like what they are putting in their lunch boxes for school. God knows I always need more inspiration for interesting food to give my son to eat! For a serious career woman, I love Bec’s writing style and casual tone. It’s so easy to read and enjoy. Sit back and read Bambino’s Do Ballarat here.
- And Kristie – is a mum with two little tackers hell bent on testing out every single playground in Ballarat! You know yourself, that if you drive past a playground they haven’t been to before they are banging on the windows trying to get you to stop. And Kristie actually does! It’s like every mum’s dream to find the perfect playground that is safe for their child’s current age, and has all the facilities and amenities nearby that they need, whether it’s toilets, barbecues, coffee, a table, shade, good parking, a FENCE…whatever it may be. So Kristie and her tribe are on that mission to find the perfect spot and share their insights, the kids’ reviews and her mum stance on every location they visit. Check out Kristie’s reviews here.
