Imagine entering a studio where your whole health and wellbeing were cared for. You could exercise hard and fast if you felt up to it, or take a moment to breathe and reset on a bad day. Your coaches could read your needs and tailored your sessions to exactly what your body and mind needed at that very moment, and you could bring your children as well.
That’s exactly what the team at Elements Mind Body Studio have created; an environment of peace, energy and time out for members wanting to feel fitter, reinvigorated and mindful. We recently met up with Tracey and Lee from Elements Mind Body Studio, to find out what inspired them to help many women & men find their balance.

And in the studio I teach a large range of classes including Qi Gong, Body Balance, Body Combat, Body Step, Body Pump and Freestyle cycle.
How did you meet and decide to create a space like Elements together?
We met a few times on our journeys of self discovery and career development and knew we had a connection – we believed our purpose was the same – to help people rebalance their physical, mental and emotional bodies and be their true selves. We had the same ideas on helping people – to reduce stress, to be happy and healthy! We both have the belief that in order to be healthy, we must look at emotions, what stress is in the body, the food we eat, exercise and happiness. Elements Mind Body studio came about to bring all this together. We designed the studio to enable people to be their true selves, to feel part of a community of like minded people, to get them moving, reduce their stress and find balance. Our motto is “Redefine You”. We ask that YOU define what is good for you and your body, and we place no expectations on what our members should or should not do. The emphasis is on the individual and their needs at that very moment.
Tell us what’s on offer at the studio
We have designed our studio to cater to each of the 5 elements. Water caters to our mind-body classes, Metal for cycle, Fire for high intensity, Earth for low impact and Wood (which is in progress now) will cater for creativity, strength and functional training.
In our group fitness classes we have:
- Barre Attack
- Body Pump
- Body Combat
- Body Step
- HIIT classes such as GRIT and Sprint
- Qi Gong
- Yin Yoga
- Yoga and Stretching
- Barre Attack Barre Attack is one of our very popular classes, which uses ballet barres, cardio bursts and standing pilates work. It is loads of fun! So you can come in to add a bit of movement you’re your day, or get stuck into a hard working session.
- Or you can just come in to reduce your stress!
- Barre Attack
- Kids Yoga
Our child friendly classes such as Boxing & Barre Attack means that mums can bring their children. And we have kids yoga classes for children aged 3 to 12.
- Yin Yoga
- And Personal Training to help with a person’s specific goals.
And we have Reiki healings, one on one meditation and John of God Crystal Light Bed. Our crystal light bed comes from Brazil and is not purchased in the normal sense – you actually need permission to use this bed, and both of us are lucky to have been blessed with permission to use it at Elements. All these modalities reduce stress in the body, promoting healing from within and rebalancing one’s energy.
What are your plans for the future of Elements?
We started in January 2017 with one space and grew quickly, leasing the building next door. In December 2017 we leased a third space and moved our Barre Attack and Yoga classes into it due to the growing demand for this class. We have all of our elements covered in separate spaces throughout the studio and we want people to see us not as a “Gym”. We have so much on offer to assist in reducing stress, improving strength but mostly we want our members to feel part of a community of people who look after themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually! WHOLENESS! WELLNESS! What is your favourite success story to date? We have both been working with teenagers, running one on one sessions to help with anxiety, reducing stress and giving these students tools to assist and cope with life pressures. We have seen some great results and how much happier the students are after working one on one with them.
What do you love about Ballarat?
We love Ballarat’s prestigious jewel – Lake Wendouree, it’s such a treasure to the city. We love the beautiful heritage buildings, and the close proximity of everywhere we need to go. Tracey lived in Melbourne at one time and had to travel an hour just to get to work each day. And although Winter is cold, we are thrilled to be able to come into our studio to get warm and inspire movement into our day.
