As a Mum you would do anything for your children! Especially when they are sick. Which is exactly what Louise did last Winter with her 1 year old son, James.
James had been suffering with eczema on his cheeks and Louise was desperate to rid him of the red, dry and sometimes weeping skin. So we sat down with Louise and James and went through their health history and popped them onto our Children’s plan, which allows the parent and child to come in any time as often as they like over the course of their plan.
So why would we tell you this story if the salt therapy didn’t help the eczema? Because, although the salt therapy wasn’t the cure for James’ eczema, Louise and James continued to attend salt therapy through Winter and Autumn to help ward off the recurrent infections. Attending day care regularly, it was inevitable that the little man would catch bugs, and eventually pass them on to Mum and Dad. So attending the children’s room regularly at Salts of the Earth helped James to ward off the bugs and helped ease his congestion and improve his overall health and sleep during the times when he and the family were sick.
Louise says not only was it beneficial to James’ health, it was a great time for the two of them to get out during Winter when everybody wants to stay home by the fire. They were able to go somewhere warm and safe, where he could play with the toys and enjoy other children’s company, knowing that they would not pass any germs because the salt is antibacterial and antiviral. She says she met some other lovely parents while they were in the rooms and some days it was the only adult conversation she had, so it was nice to have company and would be a great idea for Mums groups during Winter. It was also great for helping her own asthma and warding off the bugs that James was bringing home from day care.

What is salt therapy?
Salt therapy is a natural therapy that has been practiced since the 18th century. It involves sitting in a room which is filled with fine pharmaceutical grade salt that is inhaled while you relax, which can help cleanse both the airways and the skin to relieve congestion, inflammation and skin irritations.
